Rising 6th Grade Information

Dear Future Osborne Middle School Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of the entire Osborne Middle School community, we extend a warm welcome to you and all incoming 6th grade students from Fort Daniel Elementary, Puckett's Mill Elementary, and Duncan Creek Elementary. We understand that transitioning to middle school can be an exciting, yet somewhat daunting experience, so we are committed to making this transition a smooth and positive one for students and their families.  With this in mind, we would like to share information with you about a series of rising 6th grade events scheduled for this month.  These events will include student visits to Osborne during the school day and family nights at Osborne in the evening, as detailed below:

• Student Visit - Fort Daniel & Puckett's Mill ES: 
  Wednesday, March 26, 9:45 am - 11:00 am

• Student Visit - Duncan Creek ES: 
  Thursday, March 27, 9:45 am - 11:00 am

During the 5th grade student visits, our enthusiastic peer leaders and cheerleaders will warmly welcome our future Hawks as they enter Osborne for the very first time. Your student will then enjoy a vibrant showcase of Osborne's talented staff and students, including performances by our talented band, chorus, and orchestra ensembles. This will be followed by an opportunity to meet some of our friendly 6th grade students, dedicated teachers, and experienced administrators.

Rising Hawks Student & Parent Family Nights

We extend a special invitation to all rising 6th grade families, especially those with a child entering middle school for the very first time, to attend one of our Rising Hawks Student & Parent Family Nights. These special events will be held during the evening on March 26 and March 27 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Osborne Middle School.  Family activities, spirit wear sales, Hawks Training Camp registration, and PTA will all be available beginning at 5:00 pm, with the formal presentation sessions beginning at 6:00 pm, so we encourage all families to arrive early.  

• Family Night - Fort Daniel ES & Puckett's Mill ES:
  Wednesday, March 26, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (activities begin at 5:00 pm)

• Family Night - Duncan Creek ES: 
  Thursday, March 27, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (activities begin at 5:00 pm)

Highlights:

• Informative Presentations: Hear from our principal, assistant principal, counselor, academic teachers, athletics coaches, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team members, and our Fine Arts teachers (band, chorus, and orchestra).

• Get Connected: Explore a variety of interactive stations in the main hallway, including the PTA table, OMS spirit wear table, and Hawks Training Camp table.

• Family Activities: Enjoy refreshments from Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck and Kona Ice Truck (with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the school) and snap photos at the OMS photo booth.

We are thrilled to welcome you and your child to the Osborne Middle School family and look forward to partnering with you to ensure your child is prepared to SOAR towards excellence throughout the 2025-26 school year!
